When introducing Richard, he told a story about Richard's first audition with the band. After it Richard flew back home and at the airport someone ran up to him and said "Hey Izzy, can I get your autograph?". Axl took that as a good omen and signed Richard. Notes: Axl was wearing Leafs jerseys as well as a Raptors, a Blue Jays and a Toronto Rock jersey at the AirCanada Centre. He mentions how hard it must be playing hockey in this arena with all these girls walking around. "Are you going to be focussing on a stick and a puck..." Later he talked about the press and how "they make a living off discussing what people do". There was also a little Montreal mention. "How many of you were at this infamous show in Montreal in 92? (pause; audience cheering) What's wrong with you people in Canada? A couple of weeks ago in Vancouver they were rioting and I wasn't even there? And then they rioted in Columbus and I thought 'Oh no I must be late'." Axl's answer to why some girls get backstage passes while others don't was that they get David Lee Roth to go through the crowd and pick out the hot girls, because he has good taste and he has nothing else to do. When introducing the band, Axl referred to them as the "magnificant seven," and then whistled the theme song to the movie. Attendance: 16000? Notes: Axl talked about Vanvouver, the old material and, after Patience, Izzy. He said that Izzy used to complain about not being able to hear himself onstage. Axl said that was because Izzy was so "fucked up", they'd turn his amp off because he'd usually be playing a different song, or a different key or something. Then, when Izzy would turn around to check if his amp was on, the roadies would turn it up loud so he could hear it. And when he turned back to face the crowd, they'd turn it back off.
