VELVET REVOLVER: Label Bidding War 'Out Of Control' + Matt Sorum Guest On PRE)THING Single
Label bidding for VELVET REVOLVER, the new band featuring GUNS N' ROSES alumni Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, David Kushner of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS frontman Scott Weiland, is reportedly "out of control," according to Hits Daily Double, the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS. The group, who made their live debut June 19 at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, are set to release their debut EP/DVD on October 13 through Immortal Records as part of a one-off deal with the label. In other news, the birth of VELVET REVOLVER will be the subject of VH1's new cinema verite documentary series, "Inside Out", which is scheduled to debut August 7 with an episode focusing on THE WU-TANG CLAN rapper Ol' Dirty Bastard. The air date for the VELVET REVOLVER episode has yet to be announced.


Former GUNS N' ROSES/current VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum and TOMMY LEE/ex-KILGORE bassist Marty O'Brien are featured on two songs from the forthcoming PRE)THING album, titled "22nd Century Lifestyle Episode: RUSTAND THESUPERHEROES SEXDRUGS AND SOUTHERN CITYROCK". Sorum and O'Brien appear on the first single "Faded Love" as well as the album cut "Stay Alive".
