>> BackGuns N' Roses news:

July 31st, 1997
Guns N' Roses "Appetite For Destruction" was released ten years ago!
On the 31st of July 1987 Geffen Records released an album that would change the music scene. At the time nobody knew how important this album would become.

In the late eighties rock music had become safe, but Appetite For Destruction made rock music dangerous again. This album was real, it wasn't made for the charts. The songs were true stories, stuff that had happened to the band. Some of the songs were considered offensive (for example Mr. Brownstone which was about drug addiction). Even the album's cover art (which came from a Robin Williams painting) was considered so offensive that some stores refused to sell the album.

The band who was responsible for this monster was an LA band called Guns N' Roses.

At first the album wasn't a success, but by touring and by releasing Sweet Child O' Mine as a single, the album went to number one in the US charts.

The rest is history....
