Axl Rose to Talk Guns N' Roses on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'
Singer to address reunion rumors next week

Axl Rose will talk about the rumors surrounding a Guns N' Roses reunion on Tuesday's episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

After months of rumors, mysterious teases, subtle, but telling, website updates and other evidence, Axl Rose will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live next week to address the talk about the classic Guns N' Roses lineup getting back together. Multiple sources confirmed Rose's Kimmel appearance to Rolling Stone, but declined to reveal the specific nature of his announcement or taping date. Rose previously appeared on Kimmel's late-night show in 2012, which marked Rose's first live interview in 20 years.

Rumors of the classic lineup's reunion were sparked first when Slash told CBS This Morning in May of this year that the "tension ... has dissipated" between Rose and him. "We don't have all those issues anymore," he said. "There's not a lot of controversy. It's something that's more perpetuated by the media than anything." In an interview with Sweden's Aftonbladet in August, Slash admitted that he and Rose were able "to dispel some of that negative stuff that was going on for so long." However, Slash refused to comment on whether the thaw in his relationship with Rose would result in a GN'R reunion.

However, the door opened for a possible reformation when a pair of Rose's guitarists, DJ Ashba and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, both revealed within a few days of each other in July that they were no longer members of Guns N' Roses.

Rumors of a classic lineup reunion continued to swell until it hit a fever pitch in November when former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville, a friend of McKagan's wife Susan Holmes-McKagan, blurted out on camera, "Guns N' Roses is coming back, motherfuckers." ("Woo!," Holmes-McKagan replied.) Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx and even former Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland also reiterated the reunion rumors.

Guns N' Roses' official Twitter then began teasing fans with tweets like "What ever happened to no news is good news?" and "Of course, today everyone is a journalist. If only they could read lips ... Surely they'll read between the lines." As more reports emerged about Guns N' Roses' potential plans, the group's official website was updated with the band's classic logo, while a mysterious teaser played before Star Wars: The Force Awakens featured "Welcome to the Jungle" over black-and-white crowd shots before a screen that says "Coming Soon."

McKagan then got fans fired up for a reunion when he posted a photo of his "LAMF" tattoo while holding a bass; the tattoo stands for "Like a Motherfucker," a nod to Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers. McKagan previously covered that band's "You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory" on Guns N' Roses' The Spaghetti Incident? and dedicated Use Your Illusion II's "So Fine" to Johnny Thunders' influential punk rock band.

With rumor talk now centering on everything from a Coachella headlining set to a stadium tour, Rose himself will address the situation on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
