Tommy Stinson was recently in the studio in with L.A. scenester Loomis. The following is from the studio's web site (where you can see a picture of Tommy):
We just had the pleasure of working with former Replacement and Guns and Roses bassist Tommy Stinson. He dropped in to cut bass on ten songs for L.A. scenester Loomis. Also contributing to the project are Josh Freese (Vandals) and Greg Hetson (Bad Religion, Circle Jerks) If we had to tag a sound on this record we would have to say Leonard Cohen fronting the Velvet Underground....very interesting!!!

Apparently he's also started working on a follow-up to his 2004 release "Village Gorilla Head".
A little GN'R mention:
Guns N' Roses was mentioned as one of the acts that Sanctuary manages in a news article about the company possibly being sold: Sanctuary held talks with potential buyers
