Tommy Stinson
Village Gorilla Head
Sanctuary
Although he’s best known for holding down the bottom end in the Replacements and the current edition of Guns N’ Roses, Tommy Stinson has instincts that are far beyond bass-ic. As he reveals here, Stinson has a knack for conjuring up classic rock songs like “Something’s Wrong,” on which his fretwork could pass for Ron Wood’s in a blindfold test. He hasn’t lost touch with his snotty inner child, though, which rears its spiky head on the lashing sneer-fest “Couldn’t Wait” and the New York Dolls-styled “Motivation,” proof positive that a bad attitude is timeless.
